Before You Book
What makes Tuani Tours Nicaragua different?
With Tuani Tours, you're not just joining a group, you're traveling with us (Aislyn + Alvaro)! We're by your side the entire trip to make sure everything runs smoothly. Alvaro is a local from Nicaragua who speaks both English and Spanish, so he helps bridge the language and cultural connection everywhere we go. You'll always have someone you trust with you.
What airport should I fly into?
You'll fly into Managua International Airport (MGA). Airport pickup and drop-off are included in all of our trips!
Is Nicaragua safe for travelers?
Yes! Nicaragua is one of the safest and most welcoming countries in Central America. We travel with local guides who live in the communities we visit, and our guests often say they feel at home here. We know the community personally and take care of all logistics, so you can simply relax and enjoy.
Do I need travel insurance?
We recommend all travelers purchase travel insurance that covers medical care, trip interruptions and adventure activities.
Do I need any vaccinations or special documents?
Currently, most travelers do not need any special vaccinations to enter Nicaragua. Please check your country's travel requirements before visiting.
When is the best time to visit Nicaragua?
The dry season (November-May) offers sunny skies, no rain interruptions and warm weather. The green season, can be wet (June-October) but is lush, quiet and full of life.

What's Included
Are meals included in the trips?
Breakfasts and dinners are included in all of our tours. We are trying to reduce food waste, however lunch is always available at your own cost.
What type of accommodation do you provide?
We partner with small, locally owned hotels and eco-lodges. In all of our Jiquilillo packages, we stay at Hotel Jiquilillo Beach, which is a small beach lodge directly on the ocean. Accommodations are comfortable, clean, beachfront and with private bathrooms.
Is transportation included?
Yes! All ground transportation in Nicaragua - including airport transfers, tour travel, and local excursions is included.

Travel Essentials
What should I pack?
Light, breathable clothing, sandals, swimsuit, sunscreen, bug spray, reusable water bottle and a hat! We send a detailed packing list when you book!
Is wifi available during the trip?
Yes, though there may be some interruptions in remote areas. It's a great chance to unplug and enjoy local life.
Can I drink the water?
There is clean, purified water always available to you during your stay.
Is there laundry available?
Yes in Jiquilillo we offer laundry services for a small fee that goes directly to those who clean your laundry!
Experiences + Food

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Absolutely. We happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free travelers. Aislyn is a vegetarian too! Just let us know before your trip.
What's the group size?
Our groups are small and personal, however small your group is to no more than 10 typically.
What kind of food can I expect?
Expect delicious, home-cooked Nicaraguan dishes with fresh, local ingredients, think rice and beans, fried plantain, fresh fish, shrimp, chicken, cheese, tortillas, tropical fruits, and more!
Do we eat together?
We do! Breakfasts and dinners are shared as a group, either at the hotel or one of the local restaurants. It's one of the best parts!
Will you join activities with us?
We join you for every activity. Whether it's horseback riding, cooking, or community projects. You'll never feel alone or unsure, we're right there helping you translate, guide and share the moment.
Do we learn about local cooking?
Yes! Many of our tours include interactive cultural experiences like tortilla or cheese making with local families.
Can I customize my tour or activities?
100%! You can plan a private trip on your own schedule. We tailor experiences around your interests, horseback riding, surfing, fishing, volcano hikes and so much more!

How do I reserve my spot?
A deposit secures your space on any group or private trip. Once confirmed, we will send you your full trip details, itinerary, and packing list.
